                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          to Emmaus, a village not far from Jerusalem. At this time, they were feeling rather afraid, tired, and
 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          criminal. As they were walking, an unknown man joined them and was chatting with them along the
 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          recent death of their leader. The man then tried to leave, but the disciples asked him to stay with them
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          and have a meal together. When the man, as it says in verse 30, sat down, broke the bread and said a
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          prayer, they realized it was not just an unknown man, but rather it was Jesus himself, who had been
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          resurrected and stayed with them for some time. But as soon as they realized who he really was, the
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          man vanished. As we begin a new year together, with some new faces and some friends graduated or
 
 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          familiar. They didn’t know it was Jesus at that time, but their inner feelings were touched, just as

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          unjust war upon their land and people? For the disciples on the road to Emmaus, the re-appearance of
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          their teacher was “eye-opening.” As the new school term begins, let our eyes also be opened to the
